- use the work permit to get a Visa to enter the country.
Some countries/employers require a work permit before they will allow you to apply for a job. These countries need you to show that your skills are special/in short supply in that country.
So, the process depends on the country.
BUT nearly always you will need to have the skills for a job, that a local person cannot do, thats why you will get the job ;)
