How do I apply blush (to the apples of my cheeks) without looking like a hooker? (:
When I apply it it just looks.... not good. I either use too much or I'm not applying it right.
Anyways, thanks! Any tips are welcome! Also, if you have a favorite blush, I'd love to hear what it is!How to apply blush?
Apply it with the proper brush. (Blush brush) If applied with your fingers, it will look chalky and very uneven. If you apply too much, use a face powder over it. It'll lighten it up.
To apply powder blush, you firstly have to smile. It will reveal your cheek apples. Rub the blush brush into the blush and tap off any extra. Apply in circular motions, moving from your cheeks to the temples. If you apply too much, you can blend it in to lighten it.
For a cream or liquid blush, you can just use your fingers to apply. Rub the blush onto your face using circular motions. Be careful with liquid blushes because they dry quickly and you won't be able to blend them. How to apply blush?
Things youll need: * blush
* quality applicator brush
1. Select a color that will help accent your already stunning facial features. Choose a color that you think will look appropriate and won't stand out too much. A bright red may not look great on a pale person. Try a soft pink color such as ';Dandelion'; by Benefit Cosmetics. Maybe even something with a little tan and pink in it, like ';10'; by Benefit Cosmetics.
2. Get a whole set of brushes, and you can use them for all kinds of different makeup applications. Sometimes blush comes with an applicator. Never use a small, cheap brush like the ones that come in CoverGirl blushes. If you use a cheap brush, You'll have a cheap look.
3. Make sure your area is well lit for doing makeup. Consider getting a lighted makeup mirror. Prepare for your makeup by washing your face, brushing your teeth, and putting on any foundations, coverups, and bronzers you may use.
4. Swipe your brush over your cheek about three times, making strokes back and forth or round and round. Put a big smile on your face so your cheeks perk up (these are the apples of your cheeks) and you may even see some dimples. Place the brush over your cheeks and make strokes with the brush from your cheeks (towards your nose) to the side of your face (towards your ears). Move the brush in a circular fashion as well before going to do the other side of your face.
tips: * Play with the blush yourself! You will see where you want to get a little more pink on your face if you do it a few times.
* Redheads look great in ';Georgia'; by Benefit Cosmetics.
* Use a large, quality brush, such as ';Professional Natural Slant Brush'; by Sephora.
* Make sure blush and lipstick are similar in color.
an easy trick is to suck in your cheeks like a fish. Then you'll see your cheek bone and that's where you apply blush. Start out light and swipe it like you would a broom; don't do one stroke all the way your cheek bone, do many swipes to apply it evenly. I normally do the blush until i get to about the side of my head, almost to my hairline. Then when your finished, use your hands to blend it in with your skin! Good luck, i had the same problem for a while.
I would smile in the mirror, and find the apples of your cheeks.
http://www.girlfriends.com/articles/imag鈥?/a> (you can see them in that picture) Take your blush brush, and tap off the excess blush. while you're still smiling, apply the blush in a circular motion, working your way up until you reach your hairline. Bobbi Brown, Lorac, and Covergirl all make great blushes.
You should smile, so that the apples of your cheeks stand out, and then lightly brush blush on there, sweeping towards your hairline.
When you dip the brush, you should tap off the excess powder.
A really nice, subtle blush is Benefit Dandilion blush. It's really good and it doesn't even look like makeup, it just brightens up your face
:)
it depends on what kind your using.
powder/mineral:
take a large blusher brush and dip it int he blush. then shake it loosely to remove excess blush that will make you look over down. smile. blend it into your cheeks lightly in a circular motion.
cream/mousse:
take a damp makeup sponge and apply a little blush to it. smile. then blend outwards.
liquid/cheek stain:
apply with fingertips using small(pea sized) amounts.smile and blend outwards.
if this still is not working for you you probably have the wrong shade.
if you have fair or beige skin go for a light pink or a peach color. if you have golden skin go for something a little darker. if you dark skin, don't use blush at all it won't do much for your skin.
favorite blushes:
NARS(can be found at sephora) makes an amazing product, they have the best shades and it feels weightless!
also e.l.f(can be found online or at walmart) makes a really nice shimmery mineral blush.
flirt!(can be found at khols) makes a really good cream blush.
