im only 16 but im thinking about being a fire fighter i dont know the steps so someone please help me out.What does it take to become a fire fighter like what do i have to do how do i apply.?
Since you're only 16 I would recommend that you apply to your local department and see if they have an explorer company and if they do join up, Other than that I would say;





Get your EMT and start on your paramedic.


Start looking at schools for an AS/BS in Fire Tech/Science


when you are old enough (18+) attend a Firefighter-1 academy


Then start testing your brains out at every paid department in your state.





that in a nutshell is the general path to becoming a firefighter. You could also become a volunteer Firefighter IF your local departments have any volunteer companies. firefighting is not like policing. for the most part there arent many training academies for fire fighters or entrance exams. your best bet would be to become a junior volunteer firefighter (if your town has a program like such) and work your way up. if they like you they will train you and promote you to become a firefighter. its alot easier than becoming a police officer.
