Jim's answer is largely correct. There are two provinces, however, with enhanced immigration programs. One is Quebec which shares responsibility with the Federal Government resulting from the deal that got Quebec to finally sign on to the Constitution Act. Quebec has the ability to refuse anglophones and favorably recruit francophones.

The other province is Alberta. Alberta can identify certain skill shortages, and yes, if you fall into one of those skill categories and are willing to go to Alberta, especially Northern Alberta, you can effectively jump the line. Some of these program are ';temporary residency';, but many have taken the opportunity to apply for landed immigrant status and if their employer will guarantee continued employment it tends to get processed with priority.

You still have to go through CIC. And to be frank, IT is not one of the skill shortages, here, in Alberta. The shortages continue to be in skilled trades in the construction, transportation and engineering sectors.HOW TO APPLY Permanent Residence (PR ) FOR ALBERTA CANADA ?
Using ALL CAPITALS is the same as SHOUTING on the Internet........not polite.

Immigration is a Federal Government of Canada matter. Provinces don't have the power to control who goes to what place, within Canada.

You must apply and be accepted before you can come here. Be aware that at this time, there are about one million people in the line up, ahead of you, and many of them have qualifications that are superior to yours, and with as much as 20 years of working experience, compared to your few years.

You will be applying as a ';skilled worker '; so I suggest that you take this on-line test, to see if you can score the minimum 67 points, to be able to apply.

Take the test, it is private, only you will see the results. If you score more than 67 points, then read this site, which is the main Immigration information website, of the Government of Canada.

Good Luck.

Jim b. Toronto.
I recommend you stay in your own country.

Us Canadians are tired of Indians and other foreigners coming into our country.
