How does the definition of marriage apply to intersex people?

Can two intersex people marry each other?

Can an intersex person marry either a man or a woman? How does the definition of marriage apply to intersex people?
By law, nobody is intersex. It's just not a recognized possibility. Such a person would have to choose one gender to be treated as exclusively as far as the law is concerned. There have been cases where such as person was assigned one gender and successfully petitioned to have it changed to the other one. But that's about the extent of it.

I've been saying for years that biologically gender is closer to a spectrum of characteristics than a logical where you're all one way or another. Psychologically the notion of gender is even more diffuse. How does the definition of marriage apply to intersex people?
Most intersexed people (as far as I know all in all the studies I've ever read) pick a gender. Sometimes it's not the gender their parent picked for them, but they almost always pick a gender. Our definitions of gender are too messed up.

Now, I assume you don't mean the legal but the religious definition of marriage. In which case all I can say is that from my religion's point of view, you are male or female before you come to earth, and your body is corrupted when you are born. In the case of an intersexed person, their spiritual self is still male or female, and in the end God will sort it out.

Even legally, this is a case of an actual documentable provable disability, not something based off of ';I feel'; but something you can prove. So it's got special considerations about it.
Who knows? Under the Christian belief, God makes everyone. Regardless of whether or not homosexuality is a choice, intersex people NEVER made a choice--God made them that way.

I don't know how it applies. Might you get a better answer if you asked this in the Politics, Marriage %26amp; Divorce, or Law %26amp; Ethics sections?

Big Cheese: You don't even know what intersex is and you dismiss it as ';propoganda';? Immature child. Get educated before you become bigoted.
What is an intersex?
Hermaphrodites? I think it depends on what the birth certificate says but it won't matter in ten years.
People are still people.
hmmm i dont know i guess they are the lucky ones in the end
