How long will it take to apply for us citizenship?

my husband is a green card holder for 7 years and didn't apply for citizenship yet, he already applied a petition for me and our daughter for almost 5 years, if he apply for citizenship now how long will it take to become a bonafide us citizen to be able to accelerate our petition? and if he become a us citizen how long will it take to grant our petition? How long will it take to apply for us citizenship?
Long enough to fill out and file the paperwork. It could take years to be a citizen, but you will have temporary statusHow long will it take to apply for us citizenship?
It all depends upon your situation. My friend from church moved here from Nigeria when he was a kid and it took him over 8 years to get his citizenship completed. Best of luck!
He can apply for citizenship any time now because he has been a legal resident for at least 5 years. That's the law.

He can petition you and it's probably going to be faster if he does it as a citizen.

For you to become a citizen will take several years. As the spouse of a US citizen, you'll only need to be a legal resident for at least 3 years, NOT 5 years.

But those 3 years have to be added to the time it takes for your residency to be approved. And that's something that's difficult to determine. Things have been pretty slow lately.

.
The system is so backed up there is no telling when you or your husband will receive status as a immigrant. It took my son's aunt 2 years 2 months and 2 days just for her husband to get a work visa to come back to the USA. So it could take awhile. Just make sure that you learn what you need to know for the test.
You should really get an immigration lawyer they can speed things up, a reputable one... its worth it....
